Summary
A walnut easy chair, English, probably supplied by J.M.Willcox, circa 1843. Upholstered in buttoned hide, the over-scrolled back curving downwards to scroll-carved detail flanking the seat, raised on foliate-carved ball-turned and tapering legs joined by a front seat rail with floral rosette detail, standing on brass castors. The small floral rosettes on the front rail of this chair are similar to those which appear on the set of eighteen dining chairs supplied by J. M. Willcox. It is reasonable to suggest that this chair may also have been supplied by Willcox.
