Summary
A mahogany reading or library armchair, English, circa 1830. The rectangular back, arms and seat covered in buttoned leather, the arms with scroll terminals and raised on curved supports applied with roundels, one arm with walnut and brass swivel lectern attached, the back with over-scrolled top also applied with roundels, standing on foliate-clasped tapering legs with brass castors.
Provenance
Part of the Hussey collection. The contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 2006 by Mrs. Elizabeth Hussey.
