Summary
A pair of satin birch open armchairs, English, circa 1850. Fitted with squab cushions, each rectangular back having ball-turned uprights with finials and joined by similar cross members, the padded arms with ball-turned terminals and under-arm supports, the caned seat raised on ball-turned legs with ceramic castors.
Provenance
Part of the Hussey collection. The contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 2006 by Mrs. Elizabeth Hussey.
