Summary
Watercolour on paper, Garden Scene, Oakly Park, Shropshire by Peter DeWint (Stone 1784 - London 1849). Oakly Park, Shropshire, was sold to Robert Clive, Clive of India, by Henry Arthur Herbert, 1st Earl Powis (2nd creation), in 1771. It was the Windsor-Clive's family home and DeWint would perhaps have known it from tutoring Harriet Clive and Henrietta Windsor-Clive, who married Edward Hussey, the builder of the new house at Scotney, in 1853.
