Flintlock swivel gun of large proportions, c1815, the lock marked Cooper, London (possibly Richard Cooper,active 1817-1819). Plain round brass barrel of massive proportions, the flared muzzle formed with two prominent rings. The breech stamped with Birmingham 1813 proof marks, together with the number 10. Retained to the stock by 2 barrel pins. Iron ramrod. Barrel length 36.4cm. Muzzle diameter 30mm. Walnut full-stock, the fore-stock with hole for mounting onto a swivel. Engraved brass furniture comprising; buttplate, trigger guard, side-plate and 2 ramrod pipes. Plain military-style flintlock with a flat lockplate, signed COOPER, LONDON. Ring-neck cock. Retained to the stock by 2 sidenails. Overall length: 103cm
