Full description
Percussion pistol with left-hand lock, English c1820 – converted to percussion system c1840. Firearms with a left-hand lock are unusual. Octagonal iron barrel, with a blade foresight and a raised rear sight. Drum and nipple-type percussion conversion. Retained to the stock by 1 barrel slide. Wooden ramrod. Barrel length 15.5cm. Calibre 18mm. Walnut full-stock of dark red colour. Brass furniture comprising trigger guard and 1 engraved ramrod pipe. Left-hand percussion lock converted from flintlock. Engraved flat plate with stepped tail and faint signature (possibly Stockley - unrecorded). Retained to the stock by 1 sidenail. Overall length: 31cm
