Summary
Hittite seal. Cylindrical seal with design of cartouche with mythical beasts on either side, later mounted on steel roller with bone handle, labelled 'Seal of Nineveh'; together with plaster impression mounted within card border, signed on verso in pencil 'Algerina P'.
Provenance
Created by Alexander, Lord Peckover, in the mid 19th-century and passed down through the family. Loaned to the National Trust by the Antony Penrose Collection.
