Summary
A bois satiné, amaranth and rosewood, marquetry inlaid ormolu mounted breakfront commode, French, circa 1880 in the transitional style The shaped top with a central panel of marquetry sprays of flowers and foliage and with an applied cast ormolu edge above two drawers to the front with further inlaid floral sprays and flanked by ormolu mounts. With a shaped apron and raised on cabriole legs with cast sabot.
