Summary

Portrait miniature, Ferdinand VII, Knight of Malta, British (English) School. Rectangular miniature on card. The frame formed from carved pierced and gilt foliage, at the top evidence of an earlier ring fixing, with an early 20th century ring present. Tied to the ring by a pink string a mid to late 19th century paper tag inscribed in ink obverse- 'King of Malta' reverse- 'Ferdinand VI 60' The second inscription 'Ferdinand...' is in the same hand as the 1912 Middleton Picture list.
