Grey with evidence of green paint over badly chipped gesso. Part of horse's left hind leg with iron support strap attached. Grey with evidence of yellow or yellowed white paint over gesso. 3, Left hind leg broken but fragment exists. 4, Horsehair padding of saddle in place, with fragment of chamois leather and traces of finished saddle leather around wooden cantle and around edges of saddle where it is attached with tacks. There are sparse traces of mane and tail, presumably horse hair. Some iron support straps are in place around body and on legs. 5, Horse's head with part of metal bridle bit and knotted twine, some with trace of black silk cover, attached on both sides of mouth. Evidence of red colouring inside mouth, otherwise grey with evidence of yellow or yellowed white paint over gesso. 6, Horse's body, two complete forelegs, right hind leg broken at hoof, but hoof exists on rocker.
