Summary
Chimney board. Painted canvas on wood, brass handle. A border of dark green runs round the two sides and the top, painted with an arcade of flowers in golden yellow. Within this the screen is painted in various colours on a greyish ground with a central lunette of nuptial figures in the style of Angelica Kauffmann. This is surrounded by various motifs, including a pair of tripod stands, four rounded medallions with amorini, ribbons and anthemia, scrolling foliage, vases and, at the base, a pair of addorsed winged sphinxes.
