Summary
one of a set of 12 armchairs, mahogany with gilded beading. Upholstery in modern green silk damask. Square upholstered seat and back. Padded arms upheld by concave fluted supports, each with a patera at the top and a flattened scroll at the base, which rests on a fluted block, above the front legs. Seat rail carved with a motif of bound laurels, echoing the moulding of the dado and the moulding round the windows, gilded bead with a moulding round the top edge. The square legs terminate in square block feet, the back legs being slightly splayed. At the top of each leg, where it joins the seat rail, there is a square block with an oval patera. The lower parts of the front legs are fluted at the front. Leather and brass casters recessed into the feet.
