Handcoloured etching on wove paper, 'The Bassoon with a French Horn Accompanyment' by Thomas Rowlandson (London 1756 – London 1827), 1811. Inscribed bottom centre: Publ. May 16 1811 by Thos. Tegg [Thomas Tegg (1776 - 1846)] No. 111 Cheapside [occupied between 1804-1824 and sometimes described as Tegg's Apollo Library, opposite Mary-le-Bow church on the corner of Cheapside and Honey Lane] and below picture entitled 'The Bassoon with a French Horn accompanyment'. An elderly sleeping couple in a rustic bedroom. Rowlandson's humorous comment on snoring.
