Summary
A late 19th century leather writing wallet belonging to Gilbert Russell (1875-1942) with a leather strap and metal buckle. Ink inscription on the front ‘Gilbert Russell Grenadier Guards Egypt 1898 South Africa 1899-1902 Bedford 1914’. The wallet folds into three and contains envelopes, cards in an Army & Navy Co-op Society band and a variety of compartments for stamps, pens and papers.
