Drawn in preparation for Rex Whistler's scheme for Maud and Gilbert Russell in the Drawing Room at Mottisfont Abbey 1938-1939; One of the 21 drawings related to the room purchased for £150 by Maud Russell from Lawrence Whistler in March 1946; Purchased from the estate of Maud Russell by Lawrence Whistler, 1983 and by whom gifted to the National Trust for display at Mottisfont Abbey in 1984.
