Summary

External decorative wall panels, made up of tin glazed ceramic tiles with an overglaze. The design is based on a diaper pattern and the central motif is each tile features the monogram of Harriet Elizabeth Georgiana Sutherland-Leveson-Gower, Duchess of Sutherland. The panels have a banded floriated frieze and skirting.

Provenance

Presented to the National Trust, with the house and grounds, by Waldorf, 2nd Viscount Astor (1879-1952) in 1942.
