Summary
Sculpture, marble, Tortoise Fountain, by Thomas Waldo Story (Rome 1855 - New York City 1915). Two tiers and base each with four features, the top with tortoises, the second with lions' heads, the base with Medusa heads. The two tiers with gadrooned edges and fluted bowls, the base with broad, flat leaves. the central column spreads between each layer and ends in bulbs decorated with scrolls.
