Stone peacock on plinth, A Peacock, with its tail-feathers fully fanned. The peacock features in the Duke of Newcastle's coat of arms. It is a copy of one that topped the obelisk which originally stood in the middle of the lake at Claremont until 1899, and which was removed to Powis Castle, Powys in 1922 [inscription at Powis says removed 1930; erected 1931] (see NT 1180994)
