One of a series of newspaper cuttings - miscellaneous items of interest to the family. A newspaper cutting from THE TIMES heading: From THE TIMES of 1837 WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 13, 1837. Price 5d. The Chairman, Mr. Serjeant Adams, to the Grand Jury at the Middlesex Sessions:- An Act of Parliament, making several important alterations in the law relative to the execution and attestation of wills, will come into operation in the month of January next. In the reign of Charles II an act was passed for the protection of freehold property, by which it was enacted that three witnesses would be necessary to attest a will whereby property of that description was bequeathed. . . . By the new law two witnesses only will be required to attest a will by which freehold property is intended to be devised. . . ...........................................
