Summary
A series of newspaper cuttings - miscellaneous items of interest to the family. The second piece of a newspaper article broken into three pieces kept with a note on the back of a piece of brown envelope. The article continues '.... Mr. SKELTON said they had to remember the building of the house would improve the ratable value. The council were in an awkward position. They did not wish to criticise the findings of a Committee, especially when they had given careful thought to a certain matter. However, it looked as if the Council were placing upon Mr. Oates the onus of removing the "neck" of land, whereas it was a responsibility which should be borne by the owners of the road. The decision of the Council might prevent Mr. Oates from building. ...............................
