One of a series of six mainly whole pages from newspapers. Subject: 'The Chesterfield Canal'. A whole page of newspaper from the "Worksop Guardian" dated 'Friday, 19th August, 1960'. Pages 5 and 6. 'Under Working Conditions BY NARROW-BOAT ALONG OUR CANAL FOURTH ARTICLE By EARNEST CLARK You may recall we had left the Trent at West Stockwith, and commenced our homeward voy- age - The weary journey upgate from the "Basin" took somewhere in the region of 15 or 16 hours. As we always tried to avoid a haul "right through," we used any remaining hours of daylight to put a few miles behind us and ease the horse's task on the fol- lowing day. ...'
