Caption below: Miss Ivy Hawkins at work in the water-powered mill which she runs on the banks of the River Ver at Redbournbury, Hertfordshire. She is believed to be the only woman in Britain to run a mill of this type, of which few are still in use, and this one may close soon through lack of work. 'TIMES 11 AUG 1959' is handwritten above the picture in black ink by William Straw junior
