Summary
1 of 128 Newspaper Cuttings; Subject - Windmills (plus a few watermills and a dovecote). A newspaper cutting of a picture of a windmill from THE NOTTINGHAM EVENING POST, 31 DEC. 1958. Caption above; Mill of Remembrance Written below: Now an official monument to author Hilaire Belloc, who died in1953, is Shipley Mill, which stands in the grounds of Belloc's former Sussex home. The mill has been put into good working order, and throughout the summer visitors were able to see it in action in the hands of Peter Powell, whose father was once the Shipley Miller. Out-of-season visitors are seen here dwarfed by the great white sweeps of the 60ft.-high mill. NOTTm POST 31 DEC 1958 is handwritten in pencil vertically down the centre of the page by William Straw junior.
