Summary
1 of 128 Newspaper Cuttings; Subject - Windmills (plus a few watermills and a dovecote). A newspaper cutting taken from NOTTM. POST newspaper 16 SEPT. 1958. The page has a large black and white photograph of a windmill with a girl sat on a fence. Caption above; Sketching the Old Mill by the Sea. Caption below: A keen amateur painter, holidaymaker Rowena Ryle, of Cambridge, sketches the old mill at Cley-next-the-Sea, near Blakeney Point, on the north coast of Norfolk. Although the mill stands on the edge of the salt marshes about a mile from the sea, it is sometimes surrounded by seawater during storms. It has been converted into a house by the owner, Major Blunt of Cley, and is at present tenanted by Admiral Sir William Jameson, who, since retiring from the Royal Navy, has written several books about the sea. NOTTM. POST 16 SEPT. 1958 is handwritten in black ink down the right hand side of the cutting.
