1 of 128 Newspaper Cuttings; Subject - Windmills (plus a few watermills and a dovecote). A newspaper cutting taken from 'THE TIMES SATURDAY JULY 29 1950' newspaper pages 9 & 10. Page 10 has a large black and white photograph of a windmill titled RESTORATION OF A SUFFOLK MILL. Caption underneath; A staff photographer's picture of the tower mill at Pakenham, near Bury St Edmunds, which has been repaired, in part by materials taken from derelict windmills in Suffolk, and is again to be used for grinding corn. Two of it's sails had been put out of action by a gale. A grant was made by the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings.
