Summary
1 of 128 Newspaper Cuttings; Subject - Windmills (plus a few watermills and a dovecote). A newspaper cutting of a picture of a windmill with horses in the foreground from the TIMES WEDNESDAY APRIL 17 1957 - underneath: Herringfleet smock mill, Suffolk, towards the restoration of which the Ministry of Works has offered a grant of £300. The county council is to meet the balance of the cost of restoration, and the Somerleyton Estates, which have used the mill to drain the marshes, but now finds it more economical to use up-to-date machinery, have agreed to lease the mill to the council at a nominal rent, so that repairs can proceed.
