Caption above; HALNAKER MILL IN NEED OF PRESERVATION Underneath; Halnaker tower mill, near Chichester, one of three in west Sussex which, as reported on page 3, are regarded as suitable for preservation. Hilaire belloc in his poem about the mill lamented: "And the sweeps have fallen from Ha'nacker Mill," and this staff photographer's picture shows that to-day one pair of the sweeps is missing. The mill was built between 1700 and 1750.
