Summary

A cutting from 'THE OBSERVER, SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 1928'. A black and white photograph of the quadrangle of the College. 'THE CENTENARY OF KING'S COLLEGE The photograph shows the quadrangle of the College, taken from the Strand entrance. The main doors of the College are shown in the middle of the wall on the left. The right-hand wall belongs to Somerset House. The arch in the background leads on to the Terrace overlooking the Victorian Embankment. The Centenary of the College is being celebrated during the present Session, its foundation dating back to a certain meeting held in the Freemason's Tavern under the chairmanship of the Duke of Welling- ton in the summer of 1828. An appeal is now being made for £350,000 to carry out certain extensions and improvements in the College.'
