Summary

One of a series of newspaper cuttings from various positions in Endcliffe Villa, all pertaining to Local History - other than Worksop. Article published in the Retford, Gainsborough and Worksop Times on 18th August, 1911 about the ferry at Littleborough. The clipping has been cut or torn nearly in half. 'THE ANCIENT FERRY AT LITTLEBOROUGH This week we reproduce a photograph taken recently at low water showing a portion of the old Roman ford a Littleborough. It was on the line of the great road from Lincoln to York, via Doncaster. On the Lincolnshire side this road is perfect, and is known as "Till Bridge Lane." ...'
