Summary
One of a series of newspaper cuttings from various positions in Endcliffe Villa, all pertaining to Local History - other than Worksop. An article published in The Nottingham Evening Post on 9th April 1954 concerning the Old Log Hut in Sherwood Forest. A photograph of the hut is inset into the article. (See entry 31.) 'ON THE SQUARE Famous landmark comes down NO MORE PICNICS IN THE OLD LOG HUT SHERWOOD FOREST'S most famous "house in the trees" - the Russian \log \hut which has for about 70 years stood in the Birklands, not far from Worsop Windmill off the Warsop-Edwinstowe road-is to come down. The surrounding woodland, which was requisitioned by the war Department soon after the outbreak of the last war, is to be replaced by the Forestry Commission.' '
