One of two of a series of newspaper cuttings from various positions in Endcliffe Villa, all pertaining to Local History - other than Worksop. An article concerning the routing of the East Coast Railway Line through the Worksop area, taken from the Times of 4th August 1950. 'RAILWAY LINE CENTENARY EAST COAST ROUTE TO SCOTLAND Monday will be the centenary of the opening of the Great Northern railway line Between Lond and Werrington, Peter- borough, a section of 78 miles, from which grew the present east coast route from London to Scotland and on which were attained later the world's highest speeds for steam traction . ...'
