Summary
One of two of a series of newspaper cuttings from various positions in Endcliffe Villa, all pertaining to Local History - other than Worksop. An article concerning the routing of the East Coast Railway Line through the Worksop area, taken from the Worksop Guardian of 26th August 1949. 'A DUKERIES RHAPSODY TALES FROM THE FOREST "Hi Kelly! Stan' for the head for a ha'penny." A new generation has arisen since the Railway Companies billed the district for miles around with "Trip to Worksop for the Dukeries" and their list of inland health resorts included Worksop; it was a common sight in the summertime for several days in the week to see a long succession of convevances reach- ing from the "Lion" half-way down Bridge Street, headed with four-in-hand charabancs, ....'
