One of a series of newspaper cuttings from various positions in Endcliffe Villa, all pertaining to Local History - other than Worksop. An article published in The Sheffield Star on 8th April, 1949 concerning Todwick Church. There is a photograph of the church inset in the article. 'Country Church Here Lies Thomas Ellis The King's Messenger For more than a century Thomas Ellis, King's Messenger has lain at rest beside the creeper-covered little old church of Todwick. A head- stone says he was born in 1728, died aged 80, and was for more than 30 years Messenger of the Great Chamber in Ordinary to His Majesty. ....'
