Article published in the Worksop Guardian on 2nd May, 1947, handwritten in black ink by the heading by William Jnr. 'WORKSOP GUARDIAN' and the date '2 MAY 1947'. ' "The Stiles" Footpath COUNCIL'S APPLICATION FOR ITS CLOSURE In accordance with a resolu- tion by Worksop Borough Coun- cil, at their March meeting to seek powers under the Highway Act 1935 for the extinguishing of a public-right-of-way over the footpath leading from Netherton Road to Windmill Lane - collo- quially known as "Over the Stiles" - and for the stopping-up of the path, the Town Clerk (Mr. W. A. Williams) applied to the Worksop Justices on Friday for their certificate authorising pro- ceedings at the next Nottingham- shire Quarter Sessions....'. '
