Summary

Christmas Greetings Card - one of thirty two Christmas cards kept in a white envelope that has been opened via a slit in the right short edge dating between 1986 - 1990. Right hand opening card with cello tape in the centre of the left hand fold and on the inside top left edge. Front; has a full colour printed image of a church sat in a graveyard surrounded by trees. A robin sits on the right gate post in the foreground and the congregation has begun to arrive. The whole is a wintery snow scene. The image is surrounded by flowers and greenery spreading from the bottom left corner to the bottom right and top left. Verse; printed in black on the right page 'With Al Good Wishes for Christmas and the New Year'. Above the verse handwritten in black felt tip pen; 'To William Straw' and beneath; 'from Cliff. Nora and Cynthia Vardy (Windermere)'. On the left page hand written across the top in black felt tip; 'We send our fond regards and hope you will soon feel better.'. In the bottom left corner a sticker; 'CRAFT COTTAGE NEW ROAD WINDERMERE CUMBRIA LA23 2LA TEL. (09662) 5814'. Back; plain white with signs of the cello tape to two of the edges. Printed in black in the centre 'Rosanne Saunders' and in the bottom right the makers mark of a circle in which is the face of a man looking left around him 'MACNVS LAVRENT IVS MEDICES'. There is a border to the circle containing the words 'THE MEDICI SOCIETY LIMITED'. Under this is printed; 7 Grafton St. W.1. Printed in England L-U512'. On the bottom centre edge a sticker with the information printed in black; 'THE WINDERMERE AND DISTRICT LUPUS GROUP FOR RESEARCH'.
