Summary
The badge pinned to the proper left sleeve of a shirt from a Scout uniform believed to have belonged to William Straw Jnr. Gold coloured, brass, sleeve pin in a scroll shape with the back folds open looking like wings. The front central section has a textured 'dotted' background with the words 'BE PREPARED' in relief and a piece of coiled wire, replicating rope hanging from the centre and finished in a knot. The badge is held onto the shirt by a metal eyelet on each side at the back and a separate metal pin with a shepherds hook end pushed through each eyelet and the shirt fabric in turn. The set includes shirt with one set of black ribbons and safety pin, one set of white ribbons with safety pin and a length of thread in the top left pocket, navy shorts, stripped belt with twist buckle and navy neckerchief, hat, water bottle, bag and a pair of sock garters.
