Summary
The inner of two of fourteen pages taken from several 'THE FREE PRESS' from 1947, kept with a whole 'THE TIMES' from 1966 and a sheet from 'Worksop Guardian' from 1938. The front page is dated 'Friday, October 3rd, 1947' on the top right of the back, as folded. The top as the page is folded has 'Page 5: THE FREE PRESS' in the top left corner, the corner has become folded over revealing the inner sheet dated 'Friday, Sept. 19th, 1947'. 'Random Shots AFTER a drought locally of six weeks, as the result of which all vegetation had become dry and parched, the rain on Saturday and since was extremely welcome and has made a marked improve- ment to garden and field. Not only has the rain done a wonder- ful amount of good to the earth, but it has cleared the air, and people generally have felt re - freshed. Now that most of the harvest has been safely gathered, a certain amount of rain will do no harm, and it is certainly needed to supply depleted wells for domestic purposes.....'.
