Summary
Christmas Greetings Cards - one of a series of Christmas cards received by William Straw Jnr. in 1983 kept in a white envelope. Right opening card with a picture of three Heralds, one carrying a long cane with a holly wreath and red ribbon on the end in his left hand and a lantern in his right hand. One front facing playing a flute and one with his back facing and playing cymbols. The background shows snowflakes falling. Inside left - White card in the centre is printed Hark the Heralds and across the bottom is printed - SOLD IN AID OF THE FUNDS OF THE BRITISH RED CROSS SOCIETY. Hand written in black ink diagonally across top left of the card is - Mother and father are very happy down here. Mother was so pleased to get your letter Uncle Walter. Do hope you are both keeping well. If you ever feel like a few days in Oxford we would all be so happy to see you down here. B underlined Inside right - printed in the centre; 'WITH BEST WISHES FOR CHRISTMAS AND THE NEW YEAR' from Handwritten above this in black ink 'To you both -' and underneath love Betty, Peter and Pandora underlined In the bottom left hand corner printed in black ink PRIORTON, VERNON AVENUE, HARCOURT HILL, OXFORD. Back - in the bottom centre is ' Printed in Great Britain'
