Caption
Here is a picture of Florence and her husband William promenading on holiday in Scarborough. It was the location of their honeymoon and they returned multiple times to the Swifts Boarding House, common with many Victorians. Photographs of the Straw’s holidaying often show Florence right in the centre of things, surrounded by friends and family. When William Snr. passed away in 1932 the boys, William Jnr. and Walter, would take it in turn to take their mother away on holiday the other staying home to care for the house and shop.
