Summary
Longcase clock. An early 19th century weight driven 30-hour striking longcase clock signed George Stacey, Worksop. The mechanism has locking plate striking, striking the hours on a single bell. The arched painted dial has a harbour scene of indeterminate location in the arch with similar in all four quarters of the main dial. The Arabic numerals feature on a circular white ground within which the maker’s name and place are located. The serpentine hood and fluted pillars are oak as is the rest of the case. The rear case feet are missing as is the central brass (?) decorative ball in the centre of the hood top. The movement is not signed or numbered.
