Summary
One of three paper packets of 'BORAX STARCH GLAZE', white with blue wording and front panel with head and shoulder image of girl, with contents. The paper packet wraps around the block of starch in blue and white with 'BORAX STARCH GLAZE' around a woman's face. The bar is distorted and the packing wrapped unevenly around it, there is a tare to the bottom of the pack. On the left side of the packet; 'Refuse all imitations AN ENGLISH LADY'S OPINION: "It produces enamel - like gloss, smoothness and durability, obtainable by no other preparation that I have ever met with. Its trifling oost is saved in preparing and economising the starch, while the ironing becomes a pleasure.". On the right side upside down; 'DIRECTIONS.-Use about one teaspoonful to each pint basin of liquid starch, according to the stiffness required; mix the BORAX GLAZE well with the Starch, and BEAT THOROUGHLY TOGETHER UNTIL DISSOLVED.'.
