Summary
Stone fragment - 141. Fragment of stone bearing inscription P R A S I A T A or P R A S I N A. Inscription possibly represents graffiti in support of the PRASINA FACTIO (or green company) team of 'chariot racers'. On 1948 inventory records it is noted as PRASIATA and thought to perhaps be 'a pet form of Celtic Pratios'. Intervention number 113/0170. This project described the stone as a building block - Sub-rectangular block, with two straight flat edges. On the largest edge are inscribed the words 'PRASINA'. A Building block - Contains patriot grafitti of the 'PRASINA FACTIO' (or green company) team of chariot racers. See R.I.B. I, 127 also 1976 Guide (R Goodburn) Plate 12, and p. 28. Drawings made by George Fox in 1886-7. J.B.A.A. XXV, (1869) 223, Rev. Scarth mentions its discovery whilst writing about Listercombe Villa though definitely attributed to Chedworth Villa by Mr. Farrer.
