Summary
Painting, watercolour and bodycolour and ink on paper, armorial bearings of Mompresson of Corton family, early 19th century. The painting on front shows a lion (black/white) on an escutcheon and a helm of a gold jug, on the reverse, handwritten, Mompresson of Corton. Arms. Agrent a Lion rampant Sable charged on the Shoulder with a Marlet Or. Crest. With a pair of Hames Or banded Argent tasselled Or a Jug of the last.

Bequeathed to the National Trust along with Stourhead House, its grounds, and the rest of the contents by Sir Henry Hugh Arthur Hoare, 6th Bt (1865 – 1947) in 1946.
