Summary
Painting, watercolour and bodycolour and ink on paper, armorial bearings of the Gifford of Brimsfield and Boyton family, early 19th century. The painting on the front shows three lions on an escutcheon(white/red), on the reverse, handwritten, GIFFARD of Brimsfield and Boyton. Arms Gules three Lions passant in pale Argent a Label of five points Azure.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust along with Stourhead House, its grounds, and the rest of the contents by Sir Henry Hugh Arthur Hoare, 6th Bt (1865 – 1947) in 1946.
