Summary
Painting, watercolour and bodycolour and ink on paper, armorial bearings of the Vernon of Horningsham family, early 19th century. The painting on front shows six lioncels and two bendlets (white/gold/azure) on an escutcheon, on the reverse, handwritten, Arms. Azure two bendlets Or between six Lioncels Argent.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust along with Stourhead House, its grounds, and the rest of the contents by Sir Henry Hugh Arthur Hoare, 6th Bt (1865 – 1947) in 1946.
