Summary
A black and white photograph of the gilt bronze bust on a moulded stone plinth of Charles 1 (1600 - 1649) by Hubert Le Sueur (c1580 - 1658) (NT 731855). The photograph is debossed lower right with 'Eastman Salisbury.' and attached in a card folder with a paper tissue sheet. The card folder is debossed front upper left with the photographer's stamp, debossed front lower right 'Eastman's, Castle Studio, Salisbury.' and front upper right pencil marked 'M.1.17'. Acquisition: a gift.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust along with Stourhead House, its grounds, and the rest of the contents by Sir Henry Hugh Arthur Hoare, 6th Bt (1865 – 1947) in 1946.
