Summary
An ebonised beech and upholstered armchair, English, circa 1890 Mounted with a pair of pony's hooves to the front legs. The Pony 'Ginger' (d.1896) belonged to Lady Frances(?) Hoare (1822-1904). Turned legs and arm supports, later upholstery.
Provenance
Given to the National Trust along with Stourhead House, its grounds, and the rest of the contents by Sir Henry Hugh Arthur Hoare, 6th Bt (1865 – 1947) in 1946.
