Collection of fourteen newspaper cuttings from 1725-1838 - 1) Obituary notice 1725, London March 13; Last night dy'd at his house in Fleet-street, Henry Hoare, eminent goldsmith and banker. Son to Sir Richard Hoare, who in the year 1712 was Lord Mayor of London. 2)1725 Obituary for Henry Hoare. Newspaper dated March 16, 1725. 3)1734; Obituary notice Mrs. Mary Hoare, relict of the late Henry Hoare Esq. 4)1737; Marriage, Mr. Richard Hoare to Miss Rust daughter of an eminenent Merchant in their city, an agreeable lady with a handsome fortune. 5)1738; Carr under sentence of death for forging a note on Messrs Hoare and Co., is respited. 6)1737; Wife of Benjamin Hoare was brought to bed of a daughter, being her first child. 7)1739; Henry Hoare one of the MPs for New Sarum, who lately went to the South of France and to Italy for his health, is very much recovered. (Going to meet his wife in Aix-en Provence and pass the ensuing winter there). 8)1725; Corpse of Henry Hoare, carry'd out of town with great Funeral State, to be interred near his seat at Stourton. 9)1730; One Newcomb was committed to Newgate by the Lord Mayor, for attempting to rob the house of Mr. Hoare, banker in Fleet Street. 10)1738; Two Persons who forged the Notes on Mr. Hoare the Banker in Fleet Street, were taken there (Chester) and are in that goal. 11)1739; Obituary notice Paul Foley. his wife (now his mournful relict) was Mrs. Susannah Hoare, sister of Henry Hoare, MP for New Sarum. 12)1810; Clerk of Messrs Hoare and Co Bankers absconded with bank notes to value of 4600L. 13)1817; Reward Notice for Francis Errington. 14)1838; Obituary notice. 19th Inst.
