Summary
A pair of vases, black basalt (stoneware), Wedgwood, Staffordshire, circa 1790. Of vase shape with a beaded band at rim, curved shoulders applied with an oak leaf swag suspended from rings, above fluted sides and raised on a square plinth. Unmarked.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust along with Stourhead House, its grounds, and the rest of the contents by Sir Henry Hugh Arthur Hoare, 6th Bt (1865 – 1947) in 1946.
