Summary
An ebony, brass-line inlaid and pietra dura breakfront cabinet, French, probably Paris, circa 1850. Embellished with bold ormolu mounts of male and female busts and anthemion, enclosed by three doors, each with a central cartouche and corner quadrants inset with ribbon-tied bouquets and floral sprigs of Florentine hardstones and soapstones, below a frieze of repeating anthemion mounts and egg and dart top edge, the sides applied with mounts depicting a dancing jester, standing on a plinth applied with strap-work mounts.
